The 2025 NFL Draft is in the books.
Texas football had 12 players selected in this year’s NFL draft at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from Thursday to Saturday. The Longhorns are coming off a College Football Playoff appearance in 2024, eventually falling to eventual national champion Ohio State in the CFP semifinals.
With the draft concluded, the Longhorns could potentially see their number of players in the NFL increase. Any player not drafted can now sign with any of the 32 NFL teams as an undrafted free agent.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, part of the USA TODAY Network, undrafted free agents receive a fixed three-year contract with their respective NFL team they sign with.According to Over the Cap, undrafted free agents will make an estimated $840,000 this year in the NFL, an increase of $45,000 from the salary for undrafted free agents last year.
