TUESDAY: A chance of widely spaced showers and storms will still be possible for parts of the Mid-South Tuesday with variably cloudy skies. One or two of the storms this afternoon could be gusty and strong. Where rain and clouds aren’t as dominant; highs will close in on 80°; where clouds hang on tough – highs will stay in the 70s. Partial clearing will allow for lows to fall back into the 60s again.
WEDNESDAY: Patchy areas of fog and stray shower chance – otherwise, a mix of clouds and sun with developing southwest breeze through mid-week. As a ridge of high pressure nudges north, temperatures will soar into the middle 80s – feeling like the upper 80s to near 90 as the heat is accompanied by a surge in humidity. Clouds will roll back in – though, we should remain quiet and dry. Lows will fall back into the upper 60s and lower 70s.
EXTENDED FORECAST: A brief lull between systems and a surging ridge of high pressure will help to bolster temperatures into the middle to upper 80s Thursday. Another system will approach by late Thursday into Friday; that’ll help kick off more chances for rain to round out the week and head into the weekend. A few storms during the latter part of Friday into early Saturday could be heavy and strong; a bit of quiet before another round of storms impacts the region by Sunday. Highs will top out in the lower 80s; lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Another active week with occasional downpours amid late spring warmth expected.
