The ASEAN-Korea Center (Secretary-General Kim Jae-shin) announced on the 19th that it will hold a trade revitalization mission in Vientiane, Laos, and Bangkok, Thailand from the 20th to the 23rd.

The event was organized with the aim of boosting trade and investment between Korea and the two countries. The purpose is to share networking opportunities and success stories between companies, and to find implications for economic and market trends.

It invites business officials interested in Korea-Laos and Korea-Thailand imports and exports to conduct programs such as business forums, business matching, and industrial inspections.

About 30 companies from Laos and Thailand, including 20 Korean companies, will participate in various industries such as food and beverage and industrial materials.

The Korea-Laos Business Forum, which will be held on the 20th, will provide a place to examine and communicate trade investment trends and government policies between the two countries.

Starting with the opening speeches of Secretary-General Kim Jae-shin and Vice Chairman of the Korea Imports Association Kim Dae-young, a welcome speech by the director of Laos’ Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Bituon City Molada, and a congratulatory speech by Korean Ambassador Jeong Young-soo in Laos will follow.

In addition, the Laos Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Laos Chamber of Commerce introduce the current status of Korea-Laos trade and incentives for companies. It is also scheduled to explore opportunities to enter the local market through business matching.

At the ‘Korea-Thailand Business Forum’ on the 22nd, participants will look at the trade investment trends and government policies of the two countries. Sunanta Kangwalkulkit, director of Thailand’s Ministry of Commerce, and Park Yong-min, Korean ambassador to Thailand, will attend.

The Office of the Commerce Officer of the Thai Embassy in Korea will provide useful information for Thai buyers.

Laos and Thailand will also have opportunities to identify the latest technologies and trends and discover new cooperative partners through visits to local industrial sites and meetings with industry officials.
