In a powerful new push for global change, some of the internet’s biggest stars are joining forces to bring safe drinking water to communities in need.
#TeamWater, launched by popular YouTubers MrBeast and Mark Rober, aims to raise a whopping $40 million over the next month to support clean water infrastructure across the globe.
The money raised will go to WaterAid, an international nonprofit that builds sustainable solutions like solar-powered wells and rainwater harvesting systems.
More than 2 billion people still live without safely managed drinking water, according to the United Nations. #TeamWater wants to change that by tapping into a combined audience of nearly 2 billion subscribers and turning views into impact.
From emotional on-the-ground storytelling to wild water-themed stunts, creators big and small are jumping in.
Mark Rober, known for his science-themed content, shared a video with his followers breaking down the importance of water filtration. The Stokes Twins, who run one of the top 10 most followed channels on YouTube with more than 129 million subscribers, recently traveled to a village in Nepal to film the installation of a 15,000-liter tank.
Well-known creators like Kai Cenat, Dude Perfect and dozens more are also bringing their own signature flair to the cause.
This isn’t the first time a group of influencers has used their platforms for good. #TeamWater follows in the footsteps of #TeamTrees (2019) and #TeamSeas (2021), two blockbuster campaigns that raised more than $50 million combined, helping to plant millions of trees and remove trash from oceans, rivers, and beaches.
