The crash happened about 2:51 p.m. Aug. 9 on Clark County K, north of Spencer Road, in the town of Loyal.
LOYAL − One adult is dead and a child was injured when a horse-drawn buggy and a minivan collided Saturday afternoon in Clark County.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about the crash at about 2:51 p.m. Aug. 9. The initial investigation indicates the buggy was traveling north on Clark County K, north of Spencer Road, in the town of Loyal when a minivan that was also traveling north struck it from behind, according to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office.
Both the buggy and van came to rest in the east ditch, according to the release.
The buggy was carrying two people. The adult passenger died at the scene of the crash, and a 12-year-old passenger was transported to Marshfield Medical Center with serious injuries, according to the release.
There was one person in the van who was not injured.
The Loyal Area Fire and Ambulance Service responded to the scene with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, Marshfield Fire Ambulance Service and the Clark County Coroner’s Office. The investigation of the crash is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Clark County Coroner’s Office and State Patrol.
