Los Angeles picked up a 2-1 victory over the Braves on Friday night with Will Smith opening the scoring for the Dodgers in the top of the fourth inning, hitting a sacrifice fly to bring home the first run.
In the sixth inning, Mookie Betts made it 2-0 with a solo homer off Atlanta pitcher Grant Holmes. Holmes took the loss, but did strike out nine batters, a career-high mark.
Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto took a no-hitter into the sixth before Austin Riley broke it up. He came out of the game in the seventh, and Atlanta finally managed a run, with Matt Olson hitting a solo shot off Kirby Yates.
On Saturday, Los Angeles will send Roki Sasaki to the mound against Spencer Schwellenbach. Both pitchers have losing records this season and will look to get back on track tonight.
