Hugh Jackman and Sutton Foster‘s latest relationship update isn’t going over too well with people online.
After a source told People that the couple is “going strong,” seven months after confirming their relationship, and that they’ve built a “good foundation,” commenters were quick to criticize the “foundation” of Jackman and Foster’s romance.
“Is cheating a good foundation for a relationship?” one Instagram user harshly commented under People’s Instagram post of the article, while another added that Jackman and Foster’s “foundation” was “based on mutual homewrecking.”
Jackman and Foster have yet to publicly confirm when their relationship began, but endless sources have alleged that the couple started dating while starring in The Music Man on Broadway in 2022.
Jackman was still married to his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, with whom he shares two children, Oscar and Ava. Foster was still with her husband, Ted Griffin. They share a daughter, Emily.
Jackman and Furness announced their separation in September 2023, a little less than a year before Foster filed for divorce in October 2024. Shortly after her split, Us Weekly published a lengthy report claiming that Foster and Jackman had an affair during their show, which caused the end of his marriage to Furness.
“Deborra-Lee was blindsided when she found out about the affair through the run of the show,” one source alleged. Us Weekly also alleged that Furness, using a private account, had “liked” an Instagram post in which a fan accused Jackman and Foster of having an affair.
Furness later strongly alluded to her ex-husband having an affair after officially filing for divorce in May of this year. “My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal. It’s a profound wound that cuts deep, however, I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us,” she said in a statement to the Daily Mail.
Foster and Jackman stepped out hand-in-hand in Los Angeles in January, confirming their relationship for the first time. They are reportedly living together in Jackman’s New York City penthouse.
