John Mulaney Announces New Standup Comedy Tour (Exclusive)

John Mulaney is coming to a city near you — if his kidnappers ever let him free!

PEOPLE can exclusively announce the standup comedian, 42, is embarking on a new tour titled John Mulaney: Mister Whatever.

His latest venture comes after his 2023 Netflix standup special, BABY J, for which he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Variety Special and a win for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special.

“I’m so excited to finally be given a platform to share my thoughts,” he tells PEOPLE of his upcoming shows.

In a promo video teasing Mister Whatever, Mulaney — who is also currently hosting his own live Netflix talk show, Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, and set to star in the Amazon MGM Studios film Madden — can be seen blindfolded with his hands bound in the back of a car as two men with blurred faces and distorted voices sit beside him.

“Hey, it’s me, John Mulaney, and I’ve got great news. I’m going on tour,” he says. “My new tour, Mister Whatever, is coming to a city near you. Pre sale starts April 23, with the presale code, MISTER, and you can get tickets at JohnMulaney.com. Hope to see you at a show!”

The men then order Mulaney to remind fans that the sale will go live a 10 a.m. local time, wherever they may be.

“What do you mean, local time? No matter where you are it’s 10 a.m.? Okay,” he says, trailing off.

From Wednesday, April 23 to Thursday, April 24 at 11:59 pm local, fans will have the opportunity to buy tickets on presale. The regular sale window will go live on Friday, April 25 at 10 a.m. local time.

The shows will even include special guests like Jon Stewart, Pete Davidson, Martin Short, Fred Armisen, Mike Birbiglia, and Nick Kroll.
