SULLIVAN’S ISLAND, S.C. (WCSC) – Authorities have captured and charged the man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that injured three people, including two children.
Justin Collin Adams, 36, was captured by law enforcement at 5:57 p.m. in the 3000 block of Jasper Boulevard, hiding on a boat in the area following a shelter-in-place warning, and is now in custody, according to Sullivan’s Island Police Chief Glenn Meadows.
Adams was taken to the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center. He has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and first-degree assault and battery.
A mugshot for Adams was not immediately available.
Police responded to a crash with multiple injuries at about 12:47 p.m.
“A car entered onto the property of the Sunrise Presbyterian Church and struck pedestrians,” he said.
Authorities say the victims included an adult and two children. One child was treated at the scene and released while EMS took the adult and the other child to an area hospital.
Isle of Palms Police Sgt. Matt Storen said both of those victims are expected to be OK, but authorities did not have an update on their condition as of just before 4:30 p.m.
After the crash, investigators say the driver ran away from the scene on foot, armed with a knife.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is the investigating agency.
