Dear beloveds, get ready. Givēon is returning to the stage, and he’s bringing the heartbreak with him.
The seven-time Grammy-nominated R&B star is heading out this fall with Dear Beloved, The Tour in support of his latest album, BELOVED. The new record, which dropped earlier this month, is already turning heads, debuting at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. Vancouver fans can catch him on October 2 at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre, one of only two Canadian stops on the tour.
If you’ve ever nursed a broken heart with “Heartbreak Anniversary” on repeat or whispered along to “Like I Want You,” you already know Givēon doesn’t just sing about love, he lives in the ache. His deep, distinctive vocals first gained wide attention on Drake’s “Chicago Freestyle,” and his profile only rose higher after appearing on Justin Bieber’s chart-topping hit “Peaches.”
BELOVED is only his second full-length studio album, but it’s already being praised as his most expansive and cinematic work to date. Givēon has hinted that the live show will match the album’s scope, featuring full instrumentation and a set designed to evoke a cinematic experience rather than a traditional concert. Expect strings, horns, and a sound that builds from intimate to epic.
Joining him on select dates are Free Nationals (of Anderson .Paak fame), UK soul singer Sasha Keable, and Canadian alt-R&B fave Charlotte Day Wilson, though she won’t appear at the Vancouver stop.
This marks Givēon’s first headlining tour in three years. Since his last outing, he’s kept busy with collaborations, festival appearances, and refining his artistry. Earlier this month, he joined Drake on stage at the UK’s Wireless Festival, reminding fans of the kind of vocal presence that fills an arena even in just a few notes.
