Salma Hayek is a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl!
On Tuesday, May 13, the publication announced the 58-year-old actress, model and producer as one of its 2025 cover girls, joining athletes Livvy Dunne and Jordan Chiles and model Lauren Chan with her own sizzling cover moment.
“Sports Illustrated Swimsuit has always been about more than swimsuits and stunning imagery,” MJ Day, the editor in chief of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit said of the Mexican actress’ first-ever cover. “It’s about creating a platform to capture moments that define our times, celebrating people who are shaping culture, and showcasing beauty on a world stage.”
In one of the cover photos — shot by renowned magazine photographer Ruven Afanador — Hayek can be seen kneeling in a pool rocking a glittering dark green swimsuit, a gold body chain and turquoise necklace.

Another version of the cover features Hayek underneath a cliff on a rocky beach, leaning against the stone as she stands on a shallow beach wearing a brown and mustard yellow crochet-style top and glittering yellow bottoms to match.
“Every single woman included this year brings with her a unique and powerful reason for being featured in the issue. Whether it’s about what she represents, the impact she’s making, or the change she’s driving in her own life and the world around her, these women show up with passion and purpose,” Day adds in the press release, calling Hayek “a force of nature as an actor, director, producer, and champion for women.”
Other major figures gracing the SI cover this year include former LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne (or Livvy Dunne, as some TikTok users may know her), Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles and model Lauren Chan, who made her mark as a rookie SI model in 2023.
“These women, along with our 34 other incredible models, have joined forces to carry the SI Swimsuit torch for 2025,” the press release adds.

The Frida actress has been candid about her love for modeling and her willingness to share her own sexy bikini photos on social media. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight in 2021, she shared that it feels “liberating” with her to show some skin on social media.
“I had to lose a lot of weight and exercise to get into the bikini towards the end of last year,” she said at the time.
“I’m glad I took a lot of pictures, I have no shame on it because it was the first week of the vacation,” Hayek added, referring to a recent vacation.
There has been much more of where that’s come from in recent months, as the superstar has shared photos of herself celebrating her 58th birthday in September 2024 in a number of bikinis, writing at the time that none of her sexy photos “are throwbacks.”

Just last month, the star opened up to PEOPLE about her skincare and other beauty routines in recent years, sharing that even though she had a period in which she worried about her so-called “turkey neck” and her skin as she ages, she now feels as confident as ever.
“I don’t mind getting older,” she told PEOPLE in April. “I don’t think that because the time passes, I lose my youth. Like beauty, youth is not just in the surface. I know people who are young who are very old, and I know people that have collected a lot of years and they are young.”
“I just want my husband [François-Henri Pinault] to still go, ‘Wow’ when he looks at me,” she added. “I still want to feel good about the way I look, but not necessarily because I want to look 20. I’m okay. I’m more excited about being 50 and 60 and looking good at 50 and 60. It’s a different kind of beauty.”
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit will be available on newsstands on May 17.
