SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY, P.A. (WBNG) — UPDATE: According to a post by Pennsylvania Congressman Dan Meuser, he received word that both troopers who were wounded are okay and currently recovering. He also stated that the shooter has been apprehended and in custody, but no further details were available at this time.
During a press conference held in Falls Township this afternoon, Gov. Josh Shapiro said two Pennsylvania State Troopers were shot in Susquehanna County.
The Governor said he will be headed to Susquehanna County this afternoon. He referred to the incident as an “active situation”.
According to a statement from Pennsylvania State Police, PSP is investigating after two Troopers were shot today while responding to a call-in northeastern Susquehanna County.
The Troopers were both transported to local hospitals. An update on their conditions will be provided later. The scene remains very active and information on the suspect will be released at a later time.
The public is asked to avoid the area of the incident, located on Route 171, approximately five miles north of the town of Thompson.

12 News is currently working to learn more information regarding a heavy police presence in Susquehanna County, P.a.
A 12 News crew on the scene said Route 171 in Susquehanna County is closed from Churchill Lake Road to Bethel Hill Road.
Lanesboro police, Pennsylvania State Police, Montrose Police, Susquehanna County Sheriff’s Office are currently responding. New York State Police is also on scene providing assistance.
A helicopter was also seen by crews responding to the scene.
Officers have been seen driving around the surrounding roads, drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes
