The series follows Kyle Turner (Bana), a National Park Service agent with Yosemite National Park, as he investigates the death of someone who fell off the edge of El Capitan.
While the series primarily takes place in the park’s bounds, viewers might be surprised to learn where the show was shot.
Where was ‘Untamed’ filmed?
The series features many iconic landmarks of the California park, but it borrows its setting narratively, not literally.
Most of “Untamed” was actually filmed in Vancouver, Canada, according to Screen Rant. The series was shot in a sound stage in North Vancouver by North Shore Studios.
While a sound stage can help with many scenes, the show’s creators also relied on some of Canada’s outdoors to mimic Yosemite’s natural beauty.
Grace Lake, Mount Seymour, and Whistler Olympic Park are just a few locations in British Columbia that were used as stand-ins for Yosemite landmarks such as El Capitan and Grouse Lake, according to TimeOut.
