Saturday Night Live has unveiled its closers for its 50th season.
Walton Goggins and Scarlett Johansson will host the final two shows of the season. Goggins will host on May 10 and Johansson will return May 17, the season finale.
It comes as Quinta Brunson is set to host May 3 with Benson Boone as musical guest.
Goggins, fresh from the success of the third season of HBO’s The White Lotus, is making his SNL debut. He will be joined by Arcade Fire as musical guest. The band is releasing its new album, Pink Elephant, on May 9. They have appeared five times before.
Johansson, who is married to SNL Weekend Update’s Colin Jost, is returning for a seventh time as host. She made her debut in January 2006 and returned in April 2007, November 2010, May 2015, March 2017 and December 2019. She has also made a number of cameos including earlier this month as Ivanka Trump in “The White POTUS” sketch. She also appeared during SNL50.
Johansson is ostensibly there to promote Jurassic World Rebirth, which comes out July 2, but in case her husband decides to leave the show at the end of the season, which, as always, has been speculated online, it would be nice to have family around to say goodbye.
The season finale is also one of the episodes with the traditional joke-swap between Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che. Last time, around Johansson was subjected to a joke, said by Jost, but written by Che, that she called “vulgar” and “gross”.
Johansson will be joined by Bad Bunny as musical guest. He was previously musical guest in February 2021 and appeared as host and musical guest in October 2023.
Saturday Night Live is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
