Years removed from his NFL career, Dez Bryant is still very much tapped into the football world. With his playing days in the rearview, he is now looking to become a mentor to the next generation.
During his time with the Dallas Cowboys, Bryant was one of the league’s top receivers. He had three straight 1,000-yard seasons, with his best statistical campaign being in 2012. Overall, Bryant’s All-Pro campaign in 2014 (1,320 yards, 16 touchdowns) arguably sits atop his best showings.
Like many other former players, Bryant has resorted to giving his thoughts on the NFL on social media. In a recent post, he extended an olive branch to a wideout he feels can still take their game to a new level.

Ahead of the 2025 season, Bryant took to X (formerly Twitter) to extend an offer to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf. He feels that if he can spend some time with him, he could help him further reach his full potential.
“I want to work with DK Metcalf..he has another level to him that I want to see him unlock…,” Bryant wrote on X.

Since being drafted in the second round in the 2019 draft, Metcalf has emerged as one of the league’s top receivers. He’s never finished a season with less than 900 yards, and has reached double-digit touchdowns on two separate occasions.
Metcalf is coming off a 2024 campaign where he totaled 992 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games for the Seattle Seahawks.

After spending the first six years of his career with the Seahawks, Metcalf is gearing up for a new chapter of his career. In the offseason, Seattle opted to trade him to the Steelers.
With this change of scenery, Metcalf has a chance to be one of the league’s top receivers in 2025. Among Pittsburgh’s other notable moves was signing quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Now catching passes from the four-time MVP, Metcalf could be in store for a career year.
As a big receiver who was also a high-end athlete, Bryant is someone who could pass along some wisdom to a player like Metcalf. Only time will tell if the Steelers wideout decides to take him up on his offer.
