HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A 48 First Alert Weather Day for the potential of severe thunderstorms later today and tonight. For today, mainly cloudy through early afternoon, a few isolated thunderstorms during the mid-afternoon may pop before the main line arrives to northwest Alabama around 5 P.M. Isolated storms prior to the main line could also be severe with damaging winds over 60 MPH and tornadoes. The main line will also have the potential for damaging winds as high as 70 MPH, large hail and tornadoes. All storms will have heavy rain and dangerous lightning. Have a way to receive notifications and have a plan in place if severe weather impacts your location. After the storms end, clearing by morning and a much nicer day for Wednesday with sunshine, temps in the 70s.
Clear and cool Wednesday night, upper 50s. Thursday, a stray shower possible, but mainly dry and nice. Temps in the low to mid 70s. Chilly Thursday night with a low temp around 50 degrees with clear conditions. Friday, sunny and nice. Low 70s.
Memorial Day weekend, a chance of showers and storms, mainly Sunday and Monday. High temps will be cool for the weekend, only in the 70s. Low temps in the 60s.
